Estimates, not quotes
- Every price on this site is a national reference range or an estimate built from published cost guides and our stated assumptions. It is not a quote, a bid or an offer, and no contractor is bound by it.
- We don't have live or local prices. Real prices depend on your location, site, materials, labor and the contractor.
- Where a total sits against a reference range (below, within or above) describes the numbers only. It isn't a judgment that a quote is fair, unfair, too high or too low, and it says nothing about any contractor's work.
No professional advice
The site gives general information. It isn't legal, financial, engineering or construction advice. Check permits, property lines, utility locates and contract terms with the right professionals and your local authorities.
Accuracy
We cite our sources and label what is sourced, what is our calculation and what is our assumption (see How we price). Sources can change and we can make mistakes, so the site is provided as is, without warranties. Use it as a starting point for questions, not as the basis for a final decision on its own.
